Anastasia Island Homes and Coastal Wear

Butler Beach sits on Anastasia Island south of St Augustine Beach, a smaller coastal community along A1A with a mix of long-held houses, rebuilt properties and condominiums close to the water.

Island bathrooms take a beating that inland ones do not. Salt air works on hinges, trim and fixture finishes, humidity stays high year round, and anything that traps moisture behind a surface will eventually show it. In condominiums there is the added question of what the building allows, since plumbing stacks are shared and access has to be arranged. There is more detail on each option on our Jacksonville bathroom remodeling services page.

We serve Butler Beach and the A1A corridor on Anastasia Island, including Crescent Beach and St Augustine Beach. We also cover St Augustine, Elkton and Palm Coast. Wherever you are, you get a written quote for your specific bathroom and the scope you approve.

Bathroom and Shower Services in Butler Beach

What we install: walk-in showers and tub-to-shower conversions, bathtub replacement, and full bathroom remodels. On the island we go through ventilation and finish selection at the consultation, since both decide how long the result looks new.

Remodeling a bathroom in Butler Beach

Water supply in Butler Beach

Butler Beach sits inside the St. Johns County Utility Department service area. Treated public water means grout and glass are not fighting hardness or iron the way they do on a well, so the choice between tile and a panel system in Butler Beach comes down to look, budget and how much routine cleaning you are prepared to do.

What the houses are like

Near the water in Butler Beach, humidity is the thing that ages a bathroom rather than anything structural. Outdoor air carries moisture most of the year, windows stay shut with the air conditioning running, and surfaces stay damp longer than they would inland. Joints are where that shows. Fewer of them means less upkeep.

Where we would start

Worth checking the existing fan before anything else. A surprising number of them vent into the attic, which moves the moisture problem rather than solving it.

Access and scheduling

Parking and staging near the beach in Butler Beach take a bit of planning, particularly in season. It is a scheduling matter rather than a cost one, and we settle it before the first day.

Permits

In St. Johns County, permits are generally required for plumbing changes and relocations, and sometimes for more than that depending on what is being altered. We will say what applies to your Butler Beach project, and the St. Johns County building department is the authority to confirm it with.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are so appreciative for the craftsmanship, knowledge in their field and care they put into all of the details during our Master Bath remodel. They were hard working, punctual, respectful and caring. They were a joy to have working in our home. The camaraderie between Chris and Christian on the job site was fun to listen to. We fired the 1st company hired to do our remodeling due to lack of craftsmanship and communication on the 1st shower. Frontline did not disappoint, Christian would usually respond to a text within minutes. These 2 came to bid the job, and arrived to do the work. So rare these days to not have a 3rd party coming into your home blind and oblivious to your needs and wants. Thank you guys, much success on all of your endeavors. We will pass your name and number to anyone interested in bath remodels❗️❗️

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Frontline Home Interiors is the definition of craftsmanship, integrity, and dedication. From the very beginning, it was clear that this isn’t just a job to them, it’s a standard they take personal pride in upholding. What impressed me most was their work ethic. Every detail mattered. They didn’t rush. They didn’t cut corners. They approached the project with a level of care and precision that you rarely see anymore. You could tell they genuinely care about the outcome, not just finishing the job. If something wasn’t perfect, they fixed it without hesitation. If there was a way to improve something, they did it even when it required extra time and effort. Their dedication shows in the small things: the clean lines, the flawless finishes, the way everything is aligned and balanced. They treated my home like it was their own. The pride they take in their work is obvious, and that pride translates directly into quality. Communication was consistent and honest throughout the process. They were transparent about timelines, respectful of my space, and committed to making sure I was completely satisfied before considering the project complete. That level of accountability is rare. Frontline Home Interiors doesn’t just deliver results they deliver excellence through discipline, precision, and genuine care for their craft. If you want a company that stands behind their work and puts their name on it with pride, this is the team you call.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We first found Chris on Thumbtack and So Glad we did as we bought a condo in Hilton Head and it needed HELP. CHRIS WAS THE MAN FOR THE JOB as he and team worked tirelessly to transform a 1.5 jack and Jill bathroom set into 2 full bathrooms complete with tile. He was great as he fit us in when other jobs he was working on had delays and also worked many weekends. We also utilized his skills to help build out a closet in another part of the condo. Mind you he did this while just meeting us on the phone while he was in HH and we were out of state. He also played well with other as we needed our electrician to assist with some old incorrect wiring. Just can’t recommend him enough (although my wife feels like she is a better painter) that said she is a great painter. Altogether he was on time on budget and super flexible. We love him and fully recommend him and his team!!!!

Frequently asked questions

Does a shower replacement in Butler Beach need a permit?

Often it does, and it is worth checking rather than assuming either way. St. Johns County generally requires a permit for plumbing changes and relocations. A replacement that stays on the existing connections may still involve permitted work depending on what is altered, so confirm your specific Butler Beach project with the St. Johns County building department.

What should a Butler Beach bathroom be finished in?

Whatever has the fewest joints you can live with. Coastal humidity around Butler Beach keeps surfaces wet longer, and joints are where that shows. Large-format tile reduces them, and acrylic or solid-surface wall systems remove most of them, which is why they need less upkeep here.

Can you make the shower easier to step into?

Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people do this. Low-threshold and barrier-style pans are chosen at the start rather than retrofitted, so it belongs in the first conversation along with door width and grab bar backing.

Do you serve Butler Beach?

Yes. Butler Beach sits inside our St. Johns County service area, and we also work across St. Augustine, Nocatee, Fruit Cove and Ponte Vedra Beach. Bathroom remodeling is all we do, so the visit is a technical look at your room rather than a sales call.

Can I see the scope in writing before committing?

Yes, and you should insist on it with any contractor. You get a written quote describing your specific room and the scope you approve before any work begins. Verbal agreement about scope is where most disputes start.
